Ultimate Garage Full Stereo Install '06 Coupe

Thought i would finally share my setup. Its all done, just gotta finish hooking up the PAC-SWI, that thing is a pain.

Big Thanx to PawnPimp for all the help

Here is what i wanted to achieve going into this.
  • All new speakers
  • New Amps and Wiring
  • Maintain as much trunk space as possible
  • Must be able to keep the spare, and be able to get to it.
  • Have to be able to fold down the rear seats

Here is the list if items purchased.
  • Pioneer Avic D3 Head Unit
  • Alpine PDX4.100 4-channel amp
  • Alpine PDX1.600 Mono amp
  • (2) 10" JL W3's
  • Polk Momo componets up front and Polk Momo Coax in rear
  • 1.5 Farad Digital Cap
  • 2 custome boxes from 4080
  • All New MonsterCable Speaker and RCA cables
  • New Neon Lights for the trunk
  • Sirius Satelite Radio
  • Digital TV Tuner with Antenna
  • Bluetooth setup for Avic D3
  • Rear Backup camera from Boyo
  • 32sq feet of Dynamat Extreme

Enough of this....here is what we look like now...enjoy

Install Headunit, still need to cut the trim ring to cover the top.

Routed the Bluetooth Mic to the Factory location, sounds great by the way.

<img src="http://www.oosah.com/actions/view/image.php?size_id=1&image_id=54104" alt=""/>

Installed the TV Antenna in the back window, can't be seen from the outside at all.

<img src="http://www.oosah.com/actions/view/image.php?size_id=1&image_id=54101" alt=""/>

Custom Trunk

<img src="http://www.oosah.com/actions/view/image.php?size_id=1&image_id=54102" alt=""/>

Upclose

Its kind of hard to tell, but there are small 2" CCFL lights mounted above each amp to light the trunk, since i removed the factory light bulb. If you are wondering where the GPS and Satellite antennas are. I mounted the Sirius under the rear deck and the GPS under the dash by the clock up front, no reception issues with either one.
The Amps are custom mounted to the sides of the trunk so all i have to do is remove the 4080 boxes and slide the carpet out to get to the spare. I also am still able to fold down the seats.

Haha... well the Vortech wasn't a garage install. Now that I have a daily driver I might actually redo my doors.

^^^ Thanx...this is my daily driver, so i needed to maintain as much trunk space as possible and keep my spare. I also did not want to hide the amps in the stock Bose location, so i had to come up with a new way to mount them. Plus, after all the money i spent on the amps, the last thing i wanted to do was not show them off.

additional lighting

Where did you tap into for the lighting in the trunk? I'm looking to add some additional lights in mine but really don't feel like going all the way to the battery for power.....

Damn I am smooth....

Yes, yes...I have to admit I did help. I primarily did wiring, sound tuning, and the design and placement of the AMP rack, but I did not do the Pac swi-x install. If I did, it would be working right now. Sounds good. Virtually no resonance, no engine noise. G0D bless dynamat, weatherproof velcro, and zip ties. I HOPE 4080 ENCLOSURES ARE READING THIS. I WANT A FIBERGLASS BOX FOR MY O7 G35X.

I removed the existing light bulb and used some wire taps on the cabling under the rear deck so i did not have to cut the existing wiring. I basically spliced into the trunk light and used it to feed the two CCFL tubes.
