distribution block needed for 2 amps?

i have 2 amps installed in my car, but they didnt use a distribution block, they just taped all the power guage wires together with duct tape, is this bad for the amp? can it ruin anything?

A junction can certainly be done without a distribution block, but... duct tape? Are they at least soldered underneath?

DUCT TAPE? Who installed the amps? Man, that's why I do all my own work.... it's hard to trust anyone these days....

The duct tape will probably be fine for a while, but as time passes the connection will probably loosen and your amps will start to cut out when drawing more power.

Duct tape on the power wire? I'm afraid to ask what they used to ground the amps with.....

yeah change that crap ASAP to a distroblock

duct tape comes loose, hits your car's body, boom there goes a fuse, IF they even used a fuse!.

Fuse distro blocks are cheap and easy anyways, $6 or so at http://knukonceptz.com

or sounddomain too, but sounddomain is expensive.

DUCT TAPE!!!!

Sorry I don't know what to say other than GET YOUR MONEY BACK!

If it was one of my installers they whould be fired on the spot. You are in a tough position, you need to get the entire install looked at by another shop. This will probabaly cost you more money but it beats burning fuses, damaging equipment or worse (FIRE).

How were their prices quoted compared to other places? Was it a recommended shop?

Do you hear me?

Are you sure it isn't electrical tape rather than duct tape? Not much better, but should at least more appropriate for the application.

Heck, Wal-mart even has Dist-blocks.... I'd go with that any day over freakin' Duct tape. Did they just fall off the turnip truck??????
