The autopage 1000 OLED alarm/starter installed.. wtf did we do wrong?

So a friend of mine (who has been installing remote starters for a while now) helped me to install my remote starter/alarm.
it is Autopage RD-1000 OLED unit.
Since then, I have 2 problems..
1) Heat.
If I turn my dial past 63 degrees, it starts blowing highest temperature air.
2) Tail lights.
If I start the car using the remote starter, 3 our of 8 LEDs in the tail light (only driver side one) do not turn on.
Once remote starter is disengaged, tail lights get back to normal..

Any ideas what could we have done wrong?
Haven't had a chance to look at it again, but curious if someone ran in to the problem before..

thank you in advance.

well in regards to the heat i had the same problem. the solution to that is you have to plug in a small plug under your steering wheel. it fits right above the small rubber hose you connect to the underdash kickboard. as for your taillights, i'm not too sure about that.

+1 on the heat. There is a connector down and right of the steering wheel that connects to an A/C tube that you need to connect. It contains a temperature sensor. Right now your A/C can't sense the internal temperature so it goes back to some defaults.

Can't think of anything simple that's causing the taillight issue though...

thanks a lot guys!

Can I reach to that plug without taking any panels off?

if you look under your steering wheel, you need to remove the panel you see. you have to unscrew a bolt behind the hood release latch, and i think there was one more bolt, then you just pull it off. once its off, you'll notice on the right side of the panel, there's a rubber hose and the plug above it. just make sure you put them both back on~

ok, here is what is happening to the tail lights...
When the car is started via the remote starter, only FEW leds on the LEFT tail light do not work.
3 on top, two on mid level, and 1 on the lower row..
Once the remote starter is disengaged, the LEDs are turning on one by one, starting from the top row..
ANY Idea?! 0_0

Well there is only 1 wire that should be connected to the tail lights, inspect the connection to it, make sure it is secure and there are no errant wires touching. If nothign else, disconnect the wire from the remote start to the tail lights, then see if the taillights still work correctly without the remote start.
