Question about Metra 70-7551

I bought the 70-7551 harness and I am a little confused about the RCA plugs. There is a purple, green, white and black plug. I'm not sure which ones are front and rear, positive or negative. I'm using this harness for a AVN-6620 in a 2007 G35 coupe.

Thanks,
Kevin

bump. help anyone?

Are you using the instruction sheet that came with your 7551 harness? It explains what all those connections go to. Usually you just match the colors up to the same female colored RCA plugs from your headunit.

If you don't have your wiring sheet anymore, these are the propoer connections:

White - Left front
Grey - Right front
Green - Left rear
Violet - Right rear

Cheers,
Kev

How does it sound?

I have an 04 coupe w/ bose and am replacing the head unit with a JVC double din. The unit only has one set of preamp outs, so I have to use the 7550 harness. Will I need a LOC? If I need one will the LOC need speaker wires coming in and going out, or will it need to have speaker wires coming in and RCA's going out?

I'd just buy the 7550... less problems, more reliable and better sound if you aren't going to an aftermarket amp.

with the 7551, do you basically tape off the speaker wires as the bose uses the rca's?

Well, yes but no. You've got a fair chance with the 70-7551 of having only a small fraction of the volume you had before, since the bose amp needs a differential-balanced signal to work right. Bose being bose (crap) the inconsistency means some of them work ok with an unbalanced signal, while others don't. The huge headache and time wasted trying to get a 70-7551 to work with the bose amp is why the only recommendation for keeping the bose amp is using the the PAC ROEM-NIS2 adapter instead, which converts the signal properly. It's got about a 99% success rate, which is worth spending the extra $20-30 to use it instead.
