Big 3 Upgrade Questions

Ok so Im planning on doing the big 3 upgrade when my optima battery shows up but i have a quick question,

How do you get to the alternator positive wire without disassembling half the car? I took a look at what i was going to have to do this week and all the negative leads look rather straight forward (bat to chassis, and the two chassis to engine leads), but the positive to alternator looks buried due to the alternator being so far down on the engine.

Any hints? Thanks guys.

good question. Why don't you tackle it and post a DIY? I haven't done it yet because the routing looks to be a nightmare.

I've taken a look at and it seems simple really. Have you changed the oil on the G? If not, it's quite easy and there is a video DIY here. If not, you'll find it on You Tube. Once you remove the cover under the vehicle, you'll find the alternator.

So what I would recommend doing is having a long length off wire and slide it down to the bottom of the car with plenty of slack. Make sure you have a ring terminal on the end already. Once you get it on the alternator, cut the wire to the length you need and the put on the ring terminal on the other end. What I would also do is use some techflex for the wire and also use wire loom so it doesn't get near anything hot, even thought that's what the techflex is for.
