Alarm won't deactivate, can't shift into P

Hello everyone. So after installing the PAC AAI-NIS2 unit in my car (which isn't fully working, but that's another story), I put everything back together again and try turning on the car, but it won't let me shift into P anymore or turn the ignition all the way off. I also noticed that the alarm won't deactivate, it starts beeping if I open or close the door, so I thought that might be what's keeping me from turning the car on.

I've tried pressing the shift lock, but it still won't let me shift into Park. I read that leaving the battery disconnected for a long period can cause this, and I did leave it disconnected for quite a while, so that might've been it. I really don't know what else to do except call the dealer about it tomorrow, but as of now, the car just keeps beeping.... any help will be appreciated.

If you can't get the car in to park then that will most likely cuase the beeping when you open the door (the car is reminding you to put the tranny in park).

It sounds like a mechanical error getting the shifter back together. Did you put the shift knob back on?

Can you shift it in to N and shut the car off? If I remember correctly if you hold down on the start/stop button it will eventually kill the ignition.

I would then investigate the shift knob area of the vehicle to see if you can determine why it won't shift back to park.
