USA Spec/Bluetooth Issue

Hello Everyone,

I recently installed the USA Spec PA11-NIS to work with my Iphone. I also have the Schosche adapter for charging. Everything works fine with the execption of one issue.

When a call comes in with music playing the phone rings in the car, and when I answer I can hear the person on the line and my ipod music in the background. Has anyone else had this issue? (Iphone 3g).

It is worth noting that if I have music playing and make an outgoing call it mutes the music, its just when answering calls that it doesnt succesfully mute/pause the music.

Well I did some troubleshooting and have traced it down to my USA-Spec Ipod cable being faulty, as I can get it to work sometimes.

My Isimple PXAMG does that with my Iphone 3g if I am listening in aux mode, but not in Ipod mode. I figured it was a the phone myself.

Its gotta be the USA Spec, since others are able to use the 3g with no issues.

According to mp3carpros.com they say the Scosche converter is not compatible with the USA Spec.

Maybe getting the 5v USA Spec cable would fix the issue?

It does the same thing with or without the Scosche, the Schosche simply helps it charge without the scosche it will not charge on 3g Iphone's.

You may be right on the cable, I will have to get one eventually.

my usa spec works fine with my iphone3g. it charges, plays music, and bluetooth works. i do have the updated 3g cable from usaspec, no other cables needed to charge the phone. i did have a faulty unit, but called them and they warranteed it out. good customer service.

Its intermittent, sometimes it works, other times, a call will come in, music mutes/pauses, I answer the call and then the music starts playing again while my call is in progress.

I wish they had made this new cable before i bought the Scosche adapter.

I had this issue with a pioneer HU with bluetooth and a iPhone 3G. I think it's an iPhone issue! I didn't had this problem with the 2.2 firmware but when I updated to 2.2.1, it started to do this. Wich iPhone firmware are you using?

Sorry to bring this back from the dead, still having this issue, havent tried the USA Spec cable. I have a feeling its the Iphone as well, I recently did the 3.0 update and its still sometimes plays music when i take a call over bluetooth.

Does anyone have a USA Spec connected with the default cable and not have this issue? I also have a Scosche adapter for charging but its the same issue.

Like said, I have the problem with my PXAMG as well. So I think it is an Iphone issue. Haven't really been in my car much since upgrading to 3.0 so don't know if that fixed it or not. I can repeatedly get it to happen if I am on bluetooth (but don't have the phone plugged in) and then attach the phone during the call to the charging cable.

I think the act of attaching the cable sends some sort of "play" command to ipod music. Normally the music gets paused when you get a bluetooth.

Hmmm, wonder what happens if you go into the ipod and turn on the music while you're in the middle of a call? I'll have to try that out when I get back from vacation.
