I turn my car on and there is no sound from the speaker's?

So I go out to lunch and i turn my car on and there is no sound coming from my speakers i thought the volume was down so i turned it up, still nothing and then i thought it may have been the CD so i put on FM radio and still no sound everything seems to be working have power and the radio shows the station and this never happened before just randomly decided to stop working, could the speaker wire be loose or did the speaks blow out? but i don't see how i never play my radio loud.

Do you have an aftermarket stereo? Happened to me one, it was a loose wire in the back of the radio. I didn't clamp it tight enough so it wasn't making full connection. I learned this after I went over a bump a minutes later and the sound cut in and out... hahaha.

no its a stock Bose, last night i got in my car and the sound worked. then when i turned the car off went out and came back later that night i turned the car on again and no sound... i haven't tried it today yet.

We might have to blame this issue on the crappy weather we're having  I'd run it to a Automotive radio shop in your area, sounds like something lose but nothing serious. I'd rather pay out of pocket than take it to Infiniti, you could have worse problem they'd create!

sounds like bose amp turn on lead is either disconnected or just barley hanging on

lazy/half assed way to check - drive your car 30-40mph and tap the brakes semi hard.

if they turn on, loose wire

proper way - spend a few hours tracing wires

Nism0r Jan 24, 2010 06:32 PM

lol ill try the half assed way first.

Thanks :)

Mine does the same. When it stops working pop in a CD and see if it works. If so you will no its a loose wire somewhere. Most likely the antenna.

there is no sound period from the radio or cd. if it is a loose wire, how would i go about fixing it im not to familiar with this kinda stuff

Nism0r Jan 26, 2010 11:15 PM

looks like the problem fixed it self seems to be fine now....

Nism0r Feb 1, 2010 04:48 PM

My problem is not going away... i tired the going 30 MPH and applying the breaks suddenly but nothing no sound came out, should i take it to infinity or have someone else look at it like a best buy or a electronics shop.....

GiantsFan280 Feb 1, 2010 08:33 PM

I'd have a reputable shop or the dealer look at it, but you'll get ripped off either way. Unless you have the time and know how to go behind the stereo and check all the connections, as well as to the factory amp. But even then, you could be left with no answers.

Seems like a loose wire would be more likely to cut in and out during driving, not while the vehicle is stationary. Try just turning the car from off to ACC several times to see if the sound doesn't work some of the time.

My guess would be that the amp is just dying and sometimes just doesn't turn on at all.

Nism0r Feb 2, 2010 12:30 PM

Do you think I should take it into infinity?

Wrathernaut Feb 2, 2010 03:08 PM

Only if you want to pay the price of a new aftermarket HU and amp to pay for labor and parts to repair it.
