Help...I can't find a good ground point
I recently made a custom fiberglass box to replace my old MDF box that was taking up too much space. I upgraded the sub as well. I also moved my amp, a kicker zx500.1 from the spare tire area to the back of the rear seat. I know everything is compatible because it worked when I tested it prior to moving the amp. Now I get a loud humming noise from the sub because I can't find a good place to attach the ground cable. It's only 3 feet long so I don't have a lot of room to play.
For those with their amps on the back of the rear seat where did you attach your ground? |
Anyone....
I'm sitting in my car at a standstill here. Nothing is working. |
Well I moved everything back the way it was and the humming hasn't gone away. Now I have to check all my connections to see if something came loose. What a pain in the arse

You can always just sand down to metal, drill and put your own screw through it. Just make sure you're not drilling into the gas tank.

It wasn't the ground. For some reason my amp when into like a protection mode. Once I disconnected and reconnected all my connections to the amp itself the problem when away. I just finished reinstalling everything and my car bumps like crazy with the new sub and FG box
