Wrathernaut's Double-Din Installation FAQ, Shopping and Resource List

I wish it was that simple. It doesn't go in the other way either. It's like a square peg in a round hole. If I do what you suggested it would scratch the ever living hell out of the inner bezel, maybe even break the rig altogether. It's only a few millimeters off, but it definitely doesn't fit. There is no flex in the dash kit at all.

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods
I don't remember other members having this problem but I've never spent a ton of time researching the Metra kit. It's possible that your kit has a manufacturing flaw, did you buy it new or used? If new if it were me I'd send it back for a refund and just bite the bullet by buying the JDM kit. If used get that dremel warmed up.

Thanks all. It's ever so slightly recessed, but you can't really tell when you're facing it straight on. I'm about 75% of the way through on my install. I'll do a feedback write up when I'm done with some pics. Between Wrathernaut's hugely helpful posts and others, it's been fairly straight forward. I'm in no real rush and meticulously chugging through in the most OCD and methodical way. Measure a thousand times, cut once!

I'm either an idiot or it doesn't get used. On the Metra 40-NI10 antenna adapter, where does the female plug go to?
Two pin beefy side goes into the cable from the car and the male side goes into the head unit.
Searched this thread up and down. Metra's site says that the 2006 sedan uses a 40-NI11 that doesn't have the female plug.

The Metra 40-NI10 is basically a "2-in-1" version of the 40-NI11. It will let you use the adapter with either the Nissan type dual prong antenna wire or your more typical single prong antenna wire.
U really needed the 40-NI11 but either one would work. Just tape off the plug not being used.
And just a tip...dont forget to hook up the antenna amplifier power wire or you will get $hitty reception.

After I was told you can use the 40-NI11, as you have stated, instead which doesn't have the female plug. Either adapter is the same price though. I'd guess the female adapter makes it easier to hook up devices that have FM modulators, which are becoming less and less common.

Hey guys, I just installed my new headunit and I installed the rear view camera but it doesn't turn automatically when I put it in reverse. I can manually turn it on but I would love to have it automatically turn on when I put it in reverse. Any help is appteciated. Thx.
