03 bose headunit CD slot does not align in 04 finisher
 

I recently purchased an 03 bose HU to swap out in my 04 coupe, the CD slot of the HU does not seem to align with the trim's opening of the CD, when I compare the two units, the CD lot of the 03 headunit has a black color cover on it and it seems to be situated a little lower than my 04. See pictures of the two units below, the one with the blue foam on top is the 03, and the one on the left is mine

Would this workout atall, I though 03 and o4 were the same?

BTW I am trying to use my own finisher and AC controller (due to color)

The trim for both is the same, so I'll say 90% sure it'll fit when you screw it in.

Well I have actually tried it twice and was unable to insert the CD, I was wondering if I need to drill a new hole in the body and lift up the 03 unit a bit

I wouldn't drill anything yet... can you show both finishers side by side? front & back?

Is there a difference if one is a Bose and the other isn't?

The finisher with the 03 says BOSE on the doorflap, and was a BOSE system per seller, it also has Clarion, and dolby blah blah stickers on the top, plus same part#, give n take

I will uninstall the trim in a few and post pictures, I am really hoping that this worksout

Are you sure that didn't come out of a 350Z or something?
It's close, but there's enough differences for me to question it.

Here are the two finishers, I can see that the CD slot looks different on the inside of the two units

I just installed the 03 in the trim again, and it just not want to take any CDs (in my finisher and bracket)

here is the other finisher

i can definitely vouch that it's from an 03 G since i was the one that sold it to him. it came off of my 03. mastee, is your car a coupe or sedan?

and looking from the finishers, you can see on the 03 how the 4 buttons above the slot are lower and closer to the slot whereas the 04 finisher it seems centered.
