What are the differences between Bose Systems by year/model in V35's?
In other words, are the speakers & amps in the 03-04 G35 Sedan (Bose) the same as the 05-06 G35 Sedan (Bose), 03-04 G35 Coupe (Bose), and 05-07 G35 Coupe (Bose)? (i.e. number of speakers, configurations, etc).
Reason I ask is because I'm looking to upgrade all of my speakers using the OEM Bose Amp and don't want to get a setup that wouldn't be compatible with my 2003 G35 Sedan (Bose). |
From what I understand, they are the same!
|
Yeah, but since the OEM Bose amp is the single largest killer of audio quality in our cars, I wouldn't keep it around for anything.
|
If I recall my 06 Coupe had two front tweeters, two front speakers, and rear speakers, and two Bose woofers on the rear (behind rear seats) whereas my 03 Sedan has only one Bose Woofer (centered behind rear seats). Or perhaps I'm blind. :dunno:
Wrathernaut, thanks for the tip. I'll look into it... haven't done much research on audio for the G. |
^ yeah it's correct, the parts are the same differing years, but not differing models. Sedans get the "8-inch" "sub", while the coupes get 6x9 speakers in the rear deck.
|
I don't see woofers on my 06 Coupe. Just the 2 rear, 2 front door and 2 tweeters.

Non-bose systems don't' get anything in the rear deck, but you're not missing out. |
My friend has a 2004 Coupe, and I have a 2005 Coupe. I swear mine sounds A LOT better than his.

Bose systems, as in the title of this thread.

But your comment got me thinking there was an extra set of speakers I hadn't noticed, since I was assuming the rear deck were actual speakers and not woofers. Sure enough, speakers behind the front seats... :banghead: http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y24...earSpeaker.jpg |
^ Rear as in behind the rear seats.
My 2006 G35 Coupe had 2 front speakers, 2 tweeters, 2 rear speakers (as pictured in your image), AND 2 behind the rear seats just below the rear windows. My 2003 G35 Sedan has 2 front speakers, 2 tweeters, 2 rear speakers, and ONE speaker behind the rear seats (under the rear window). I don't know whether they are classified as "woofers/subwoofers" or not since my weakest area of knowledge in the V35 is anything audio related. |
For the sedan's single speaker in the rear deck, I would be inclined to say that is a Sub b/c it's only 1 and it matches the setup in my old 2003 Maxima. Coupe is a big question mark.
On cars.com specs for standard equipment, the coupe shows "6 speakers" or optional "8 Bose speakers" and the sedan shows "6 speakers" or optional "7 Bose speakers" |

sedans have a single sub under the rear window, coupes have 2 6x9 "subs". both coupes and sedans have 2 tweeters and speakers up front 2 speakers on the rear side panels (sedans have them on doors) i changed out my headunit and front speakers and its 1000000x better than it used to be. still using the stock bose amp and it sounds awsome. try switching out the speakers with 2 ohm components for the front and 2 ohm coaxials for the rear panels and see if u like that. im sure you will but if not then the amp can be easily replaced as well.
