sub won't work above volume level 12
Hello all, long time reader first time posting. I searched the forum for re-q5 and such, but nothing specific to my situation. ok, here is my problem.
i have the following installed RE-Q5 Alpine MRP-M1000 - Amp Alpine Type-X SWX-1243D i tapped into the bose connector at the amp, all my input to the re-q5 are pre amp. everything seems to work fine, as long as the volume stay at 12 or below, i tried to reduce the amount of gain both on the re-q5 and amp. above 12 the subwoofer just cut out and go silence, light on amp is still lit. is it my amp that can't handle the load or am i missing something here. please help. and please excuse the poor english. |
Are you tapped into before or after the Bose amp? The bose amp has heavy bass-cutting EQ built into it that cuts more and more bass as the volume goes up.
If you're before the bose amp, I'd test with another audio source to see if you get the same problem. |

Because on an opposite note, my speakers go out when the volume is above 20 :dunno: Try checking your ground cable, switch amps, switch subs, etc. Btw, does it happen on disc and radio? Because my speakers go out when im using CD's but not my iPod so I'm wondering if it's the left channel causing problems since mine has the fading out problem. I have a scosche loc, mrp-f550 alpine type x 177a components, mrd-m1000 and 2 idq10's. |
This is usually not enough power to meet the needs of the equipment (speakers)
