HELP! Passenger side door won't open

Hi guys,

My passenger side door wasn't closing properly and when I checked it out, the three screws that hold the door mechanism in on the outside were not there so I put three screws in and closed the door....

Now the door won't open at all! I have tried opening it from the outside and the inside and nothing works. I try to budge the lock/unlock button on the door and that won't budge either!

Has anyone experienced this and how did you go about fixing it?

Thanks!

which 3 screws on what door mechanism are you talking about?

lankanrascal Sep 4, 2011 09:20 PM

The three nuts that hold the door locking thing in place. It's on the exterior of the door...

I have no idea what you're referring to.

Can you finnd a pic on google of this exterior door looking thing you're talking about?

Scroll down to Step 47, the 3 Torx bolt that holds down the lock actuator.

Thanks

wow that's weird, the screws aren't there before he takes the actuator out but they're there later on?? (pic 37) makes no sense

anyways, is the manual door look switch completely stiff when you try unlocking it from the inside?

try taking out the inner door panel and seeing if you can manually pull on the actuator line....but I dunno if you;ll be able to remove the inner pannel with the door already closed
