my horn doesn't work!!!!

when i press my horn i can hear the relay click. and everything seems to be connected.

when i bought the car the horn was disconnected for some reason. do i need to buy a new horn? and if so do i have to buy both?

Get a multimeter, and check the harness going to the horn. If it registers 12v at that harness, it's your horn that's bad. Horns are horns, so if it's that, just replace it with whatever horn you fancy, plug it in and mount it in there.

If it doesn't register 12v at the harness by the horn, then you've got more diagnosis to do than I can explain here.

+1 get a multimeter or borrow one.

The wires from the multimeter are 2 colors, RED + or BLACK -

Place each ends to the ends of the wires going to the horn. Have someone press the switch at your steering wheel... if you have an analog multimeter and connected wrong the gauge will go to the left... if yes then switch the red and black prong of the multimeter.. it should read 12V +/- if you have a digital multimeter it should read +12 or -12... then you have voltage... if yes... your horn is broken..

If it does not register 12V.. check your fuse

goodluck.. honk honk..

I guess I need a new horn, the meter read 12v when pressing the horn! Thanks guys.

But will I need to buy both horns?

If both lines have 12v and either one of your horns is not working then yes.

go to a scrapyard.. You can find different kinds of horns... For cheap
