Are all 04 DoubleDin's gone???!!??
 

I've been shopping around everywhere and no one has them anymore, and no one has any idea when more will come, or if they'll ever come for sure...

Does anyone on here know where to buy them? Or is anyone trading up to an 05 and willing to part with their 04 DD?? :( I don't want to go the route of having to dremel out a hole or something and that doesn't even solve the AC controller issue... Anyone have any ideas??

But yeah, I've emailed stricklyz and grubbs and get the its on back order and when don't know when it will be available, but we'll gladly take your order and your money now... :rolleyes: Not to imply anything negative on those guys but... that sucks? I really really wish I had gotten it a few months back now. As for dremeling out the hole for the double din... I can't dremel anything that has to do with a straight line... so, I would have to hire someone and that would cost a bit...

I have a question tho, will the 05 AC controller fit in the 04's opening? I would be an interesting mod don't you guys think? Well, if anyone else wants to sell their 03/04 double din finisher (titanium finish, is the 6mt finisher = 5at finisher?? Well I have a 6mt with navi) and is willing to take paypal I'd be more than happy to deal with them... thanks for the response guys...

My last problem is that according to them AC controller only comes in black... I have the willow interior with navi... and my navi buttons aren't black... they're tan.... Has anyone else done the conversion and has a willow interior? Did it look weird?? lolz... this sucks...

yes...there were a couple people who had this same problem with the willow interior. The ac controller was a different color and also the doubleDIN dash ends were also black instead of willow.

I don't know if we ever resolved this problem for those who needed an ACC for willow interior. I think we tried to get one from Japan from J's but they couldn't find it. I think the Japanese Nissan Skyline's don't offer willow interiors so they didnt make a US tan-colored ACC for willow interiors.

The other problem for those with willow interiors is that the DD dash has black endpieces on the outer most part of the AC vents. This also does not match the willow interior. I think others have tried to paint them to match the OEM willow and were not too successful matching the color. Others just left it black and dealt with the mismatch.

Hey dont be too frustrated. I would leave the AC buttons as black because it will match your new headunit (all aftermarket units are BLACK and most have silver accents, but the core color is black)
So the only problem here are the outer edges of the air vents, you will have to paint them to match. If you find a good color match please be sure to give us the color code :)
I lived with the black edges for almost a year, it doesnt bother me anymore. Once the 7" retractable LCD pops-out, passengers will not even notice the color mismatch ;)
