Adding a subwoofer to factory head unit non bose equipped
2008 G35X - No Nav/Bose.
What is the best way to go about adding a sub while maintaining the factory equipment? I did browse through previous threads but all I could find was info pertaining to the Bose system. Thanks! |
Nothing special required. Just run signal wires from any of the speakers to a line output converter, to an amp, to a sub.

Scorpio what is a LOC? (Sorry I am newb).

LOC/line out converter, converts the signal from your stereo to RCA jacks, stereo Left/Right, that plug into your sub. you need one to keep you factory stereo and add any amp. they sell them pretty cheap, at best buy for $14.99.

Basically, it taps into one of your speaker wires and sends the audio signal to another amplifier. |

I just can't seem to figure out the wiring diagram behind the headunit. which one am I supposed to splice into for my LOC? edit: 2006 coupe non bose. I took out everything from the trunk misreading I can tap into speaker wires from the back. I hooked up a sub with an aftermarket hearunit but never without one.https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/g35driv...a7ad350031.jpg |
You can choose any of the four speaker wires. Either one will work, but lets go with the rear right side speaker wires. In one of those harnesses, there should be a blue wire and a pink wire. Blue is + and pink is - |
