Those that removed/changed the 6x9's

How'd you get to them. The service manual doesn't make sense to me. It makes it look like you have to take out the seat and a bunch of other crap. Do you or is there an easier way?

When I took mine out I removed both parts of the seat, the upper and lower side panels and the rear deck cover. Be careful with the side panels, they use alot of clips that are easy to break.

damnit, i was really hoping that taking out all that stuff wasn't necessary cause that's what the service manual was saying, i just didn't want to believe it. Awesome job having those pics handy and scanning them skaline.

Anyone that took out their 6x9's to have more airspace for the sound to travel through from an add-on sub in the trunk think it sounds better? or is it a waste of time?

I took mine out to let the sound travel through... It made a considerable difference, but it also lets more road noise in as well... It really comes down to what matters most to you if it's going to be a waste of time... I wouldn't have it any other way in my case...

Guess it depend on what kinda sub and amp you using...typicaly its not necessary to remove the 6x9 just to get more bass into the car...would be easier to get bigger amp than remove the back seat... :D

Even at that, if you get a bigger amp AND remove the 6x9's, you'll just get that much more bass into the car... :D
