Question about amp install

So I had a eD Nine.2x installed with an 11ov.2 sub. The installer mentioned after the install that they tapped into the signal right from the head unit and that they didnt use a loc as it made the signal too low. Does this sound right? I always hear about people using a loc on the rear speakers. I have a 2005 sedan with bose btw. There isn't any noise I can hear and the sub is plenty loud.

If you have no noise and it sounds fine, cool, leave it.

The only reason that people use the LOC on the rear speakers is that sometimes you can get noise in the OEM speakers doing it the wy he did. You don't have any, so cool.

I am a bit surprised... didn't think the nine.2x had balanced in.

No idea about the balanced in, i actually had always heard you had to use a LOC, but what would the side effect be if it didn't? I have the gain set about half way and it seems pretty well balanced with the stock speaker levels, i still may have to turn it down a tiny bit though.

Just talked to eD about this also and the tech pretty much said the same thing if there isn't noise and you are getting a clean signal then it should be fine. The only thing i hear is a very small and really barely noticable bump when I turn the car off. Any idea what this is from?

I figured it was the amp discharging the last little power in it, just wanted to make sure it was common. Thanks
