The rims will make no difference and could help if they are wider and allow you to run better tires. The only issue you will have is if the tires you pick out are shorter in diameter, this would effect the overall gear ratio which means your top speed in each gear will be slightly lower and could mean more shifting during a run. If you have to shift to 3rd for a moment and then right back to 2nd it could slow your time down compared to being able to stay in 2nd the hole time. So when you pick out your tires be aware of the stock diameter compared to what you are buying.

Thanks everyone. I'm not trying to improve time or anything with the rims. In my mind I assumed the rim size didn't matter, but again I've never really raced and just asked, in retrospect, a stupid question. No doubt seat time and correct technical driving is the key.
I was supposed to be in Atlanta doing the NASA HPDE 1 but im not spending $455 and 6 hour drive to be in the rain....been nasty all week and today. CHIN will be in New Orleans in a few weeks.
