Damn photobucket killed external links.

I think I still have the original pics, but nowhere to host them. Any suggestions?

They were missing a few weeks ago. I could have sworn all those pics were photobucket pics as I have them hosted there. Now they are G35 attachments? Did someone else do this?

It's great though. Would have for this DIY to get lost considering the traffic and feedback I've gotten since creating it. 100K views is pretty impressive. If only this was a youtube video I made

I need to do my front driver on my 06X. Made it to north of 107K miles in Iowa on the original!

Anyway... is the $150 hub and bearing assembly from ebay a good quality part? I am so confused as to which to buy. Local parts places have just the bearing alone for a wide variety of prices.. cheapo $80 and Moog for $235.

I guess I'd rather just buy the hub already pressed on.

Can you get the assembly off with the bolt tapping method without taking the knuckle off? I guess that doesn't make much sense huh, have to press it back on. Hrm.

I did not remove the knuckle on my g35x. I kept it attached on top. I bought the hub from dealer but found the same bearing online from RockAuto I believe. (same bearing as infiniti original). I paid a tire shop $10 to press together. Took 'em 2 mins, (actually charged $5 - I was so happy I gave the tech a $10. I wanted the part to last another 130k like original so didn't mess with aftermarket. A bit more, running smooth over last 40k miles since changing it. Tks again to Mstang55 for write up!!!

I went back and forth on this and ended up buying just the bearing, a Timken

https://www.ebay.com/itm/292458095203 . $134

I decided that none of the hub and bearing deals had real NTN/Timken parts. Probably the cheaper Chinese stuff. I have a friend with a shop and a press, so I might just take off the knuckle and he can help me put the whole mess together.

I like that choice! Not sure how tricky it will be to get the old bearing of the hub - I guess if it won't come off - you just get a new hub. Nothing lost in trying it! Let us know how it goes - good luck on it!!

Infinity G35X
How do the AWD and RWD assemblies differ? Is there a reason they're not interchangeable?

AWD are bought as a hub and bearing and pressed together. The axle passes through the bearing and the splines interlock into the hub.

The front RWD bearing is purchased as one unit and does not have the provision for the axle to pass into the bearing.
