i guess what i'm saying is that there should not be very much affect on toe from a drop. most cars will need an alignment afterwards anyway. toe should be adjusted to factory specs and not adjusted for handling characteristics (caster also) based on safety reasons. let me know if i am wrong, but the only adjustment that does not dramatically affect the driveabilty and safety is camber.

Additionally, you cannot center the steering wheel without Toe adjustments affecting as well, to compensate for crown in the roads you drive.
Now - adjusting for handling and performance - that's what it's all about, with an eye as well on tire wear and longevity. The alignment for a person who frequently drives canyons vs freeway and surface street, is much different, and will affect tire wear, traction, handling and comfort overall.
A GREAT alignment shop will interview you and verify your driving style and adjust accordingly...whether factory spec is appropriate or not. They should also account for you in the drivers seat, and or passengers/equipment, if there are any more than 50% of your driving time. They do this by adding sand bags/weights to the appropriate areas of the car interior/trunk.
YES - camber and toe can and will change when you site in your car and make the weight ratios off kilter.

My car is dropped on 350 Z H Techs. I was not able to get the rears nor the fronts back into spec so I bought the spc rear camber kit. The fronts were one side -1.4 and the other like -1.9, toe and caster was fine. What my alignment fuy did was bend my rear left camber arm a bit in order to try to get the camber back into spec and ever since the car has some funny feelings when going over uneven areas on the highway. Can this be cuz of the bent arm? I am replacing it anyway, but just wondering, and toe was not great either.
