on the oem brembo pads the shims are already on there>

are you sure there is one one each side of each pad?

i think now brembo makes teh shim attached right to the pad, so that metal piece is not neccesary.

The service manual I read said that the 03-04 OEM Brembo pads had shims and wear sensors built in. The shims are non-removable, and the wear sensor is just the metal tab.

I also had a previous experience with the aftermarket RacingBrake shims.

To make a long story short, MAKE SURE YOU GET THE REVISED VERSIONS OR ELSE YOU WILL HAVE A SOFT PEDAL. They are otherwise excellent in eliminating brake squeal, but I have a sense that the brakes were stronger without any shims at all.

Ditto....I re-used mine when I put on my Project mu pads.
