ride quality is subjective. it's significantly more stiff than my stock suspension, but i love it that way.

this is as low as you can get:

the drop is: -1.6~-3.7 front/0~-1.4 rear

I think mine goes a little lower than yours Calvin.

That is as low as my Basics will let me go (and that's with the collars removed in the rear).

Glex, each car is going to be slightly different. Your rear does look lower than mine, though. It depends on what you have/don't have in the trunk, etc. Here is an extreme example - Kyosho's Coupe w/ Basics:

What are the collars? I'm thinking of getting the Basics, but I've read that it does not go that low...

Glex, do you have the "collars" removed from the rears also?

Thanks guys.

Yeah I had the collars removed but wasn't at the lowest settings in that picture.

Since then I have added the collars back on since I want the car sitting a little higher

nikkaitsme 09-16-2007 03:12 PM

what are the collars?

you cant compare with that pic calvin.
he is goin up an incline at an angle and of cousre that wheel is goin to look like that due to how the car is parked. plus those are 20s

the collars are the adjustment nuts that let you set the car at different heights.

here is mine no collars in the rear. front was 4 threads from max drop

the ride is pretty stiff. you'll feel every bump and imperfection in the road. my gf doesn't notice the difference from the stock sport suspension though - still hates it. i'm sittin on 20's also.

i think mine will go lower than calvin's in the rear if i remove the collars. i had to raise mine since i was rubbing. i'm still rubbing but not as much, only when i take sharp turns or sudden dips on the highway.

Glex25 09-17-2007 12:29 PM

Well I guess I didn't mean collar but the rubber boot that sits on top of the adjustable spring system.

Does anyone have pics of tein basics set on the highest setting you can go? I'm interested in a slight drop and stiffer suspension for a daily driver.

izmir41500 09-18-2007 08:27 PM

highest is stock height.

As I said, that picture was an extreme example. The main reason it looks like that is because of all the $hit he had in his back seats/trunk and the way he was parked. But even if he didn't park that way, all that weight would still cause it to be lower than normal. This is just an example of a factor that could affect ride height. I repeat...it was an extreme example to show that things will differ depending on what you have in the trunk, etc.

And those are actually 19s. Not sure where you got the idea they are 20s. :dunno:

btw - My rear looks high because the fronts are slammed in the pic i posted above. My rear is relatively high (compared to the front in that pic).

It looks as if my font will go lower than yours. Again, like I've been saying...it's going to be a little different for every car. :7:
