For those who buy SPC A-arms, here's the PN for the cone bushing 40173-AL500

The SPC a-arms don't come with the metal conical lower ball joint seat bushing that most other aftermarket a-arms have, which requires you to remove the OEM bushing from your stock a-arms. At least the first few batches of kits didn't have them. Maybe the current kits do.

Anyway, if you need these bushings you can order them from your favorite dealer. Ask for part number 40173-AL500. They are almost $10 each.

Here are the pics as I was installing my SPC a-arms on my other car.

BTW, for those of you with compression rod noises, if you need the similar bushing for that part, the PN is 40173-AC500. They look similar, but I don't know if they are the same. I thought to look for the 40173-AL500 bushing after reading about others getting the compression rod bushing.

thanks for the info, not sure if mine came with it. i wason the wait list for the SPC arms when they first came out, so mine may not have it. i do know that the red ball in the pic is squeezed all the way, so i may not have that part. Thanks a lot dude.

new kits dont come with them either, as i just got mine a couple days ago.

at what point do you not want to reuse the stock ones, as the stock ones dont come out with the OEM A arm? my local stealerships thinks its ok to charge 2x as much as every other dealer and i just ordered parts from riverside infiniti today, so would rather not have to order again.....

great to know, but whats wrong with using the ones that the stock arms have?

btw, anyone know where i can get the red rubber boot?

There is nothing wrong with using the stock piece, but from what I have heard from others with the SPC a-arms, it can sometimes be difficult to remove, espacially without damaging it.

str8dum1 Jan 3, 2008 04:06 PM

why would you have to remove it though? you are not changing the stock piece the bushing is attached to...

The SPC a-arms don't come with the black cone bushing so you have to remove it from your OEM a-arm. Some people find it difficult to do, so I'm informing everyone that the cone bushing is available.

I went to my loval Infiniti dealer and the parts guy said it came with the a-arm. He was wrong.

ohh yeah, i forgot that the bushing comes up with the OEM A-arm. I was thinking that it was stuck in the stock piece.

Thanks :)
