Brake Dust - OEM vs. Ceramic Pads

I need to change the brake pads on my 2004 G35 sedan. I have noticed that there is a lot of brake dust on my front wheels and I heard that getting Hawk HPS or Hawk Ceramic pads will reduce the amount of brake dust. I don't want to compromise safety nor stopping distance and I don't run my car on the track (just regular day to day driving). I just wanted to know if you would put either of these two brake pads on. Also, I live in Toronto so we have a very hot and very cold climate. I read somewhere that ceramic pads need a lot of time to heat up to get to optimum performance stopping power. Just wanted to know if this is true.
Any thoughts would be appreciated!

they both will have less initial bite than the stock pads and thus your braking performance will suffer somewhat. To what extent is acceptable to you is a hard call

i have the hawks ceramic and the dust(lack of) is 100x better than OEM's

High Dust is PROOF of good pad selection as far as cold initial friction ramp up!

OEM Brake pads vs Aftermarket!

The OEM pads for our '04 G35s is beyond poor! My first set only lasted me
10K miles (replaced by Infiniti) For the last 10K miles I've had the Hawk HP
pads on will very little dust and no issues with performance!

Alot of direct/indirect information here.

I'm upgrading because of the reasons you are complaining about.

i have the akebono ceramics from tirerack, and there is almost NO dust... the braking power may be slightly poorer than the axxis pads, but it's still better than stock

i have hawk ceramics on my 04 brembo... literally 100x better with the brake dust.

I've yet to see any emergency stopping distance test from 60 mph cold with various pads you would think that aftermarket manufacturers would be so proud to prove they can meet or beat oem! They can't that's why you see no published tests.

are the 05/06 OEM pads ceramic?

What about the stopping distance? Did you notice a difference?

Only expert scientific field measurements might show [prove] the 15-25 feet variance from 60-80 in rain.

Just as Tirerack tests show the 5-25 feet difference in tires from a 50 mph wet stop.

Here is a 20 ft difference in 4 pads on a street rod:

This pad test is very interesting since some of the common ProAct pads are tested:

Ceramic Raybestos

I have these on the front, no noise, no dust, and NO bite, I don't feel
secure with these, will be going back to OEM next chance I get...

Here's another comparison test, though focused more on BBK's (Stoptech) vs. 350z performance and Brembo brakes:
