I really want to drop my ride, but I don't want the ride to be jolting me and I don't want every weld and bolt in the car to come loose prematurely and the car starts rattling like nobody's business. I have considered for a while putting on the Tein H-Techs. Anyone went with a drop this height/stiffness who regrets it? It's my understanding that the Tockico D spec shocks/struts and a modest drop make for a decent look and handling.

I already know I'll have to be really careful coming in and out of driveways and parking at those little bump stopper things. I was leaving like three feet out there most of the time to keep from hitting the bottom of the front end on the curb or whatever. I'm down to about a foot or half a foot now.

Here is my 04 G with Tein 350z S-techs. I put a front and rear camber kit on it when i did the drop so i could stay in factory spec. The ride is really nice. I am using factory struts. i noticed it gets a little bumpier but not bad enough to make the whole car rattle and feel like a Honda!

Ha! Well, time will tell, my friend. How long has it been?

Not to long. You are correct, time will tell. But in time, it is worth ocassionaly checking the car out for loose parts anyway. Just to keep up on the normal maintence i go over the whole car once every couple of months. IMHO i think you should SLAM IT!

I have about 30k on my setup and lot of it was freeway driving. I don't commute anymore, but when I did the ride wasn't that great. I mean I love sticking to the ground, but it was rough on some roads. Give and take, the good handling but not so great ride. I live with it because I love how it handles.

*edit* I have 350z suspension, shocks and springs.

But would you say that your car rattles a lot more after 30K? I can live with the harsher ride, but if I accelerate the onset of creeks and rattles, it will drive me nuts. And, BTW, you got me wondering if I should be pursuing the 350z suspension setup instead of putting on H-techs. What kinda drop do you have? Did you require camber kits? Or have you seen uneven wear on your tires? I don't want to have to install camber kits and I'm afraid that I will inevitably tear the front end off if I went much lower than H-techs. And I wanna get the aero kit, or at least the front end. I would faint if I ripped that up. There was a dude selling some other kinds that gave his car a nice level in the pics he sent, but I can't remember what they were. I don't even know if he still has them. (Note to that guy: Don't post here so that no one else asks you for them! Just kidding.)

Just changed my rears tires. I should take a pic it was near perfect. I'd say 5% more wear inside, not even noticeable. Fronts are same. I didn't even really get a proper alignment either. My car doesnt rattle, but if I ginxed myself I am coming after you. To be honest I haven't regretted my suspension. Its been a great reliable mod * knocks on wood*

Ha ha! Just turn the music up! That's what I do. But I listen to a lot of classical, and when it gets quiet and I'm on a bumpy road, well...

It did seem that a lot of the little faint rattles/creaks I heard were with bassy music, though. From the doors. Anyway...What did you do with the H-techs you have listed in your sig, since you now have the Z suspension? Or are H-techs what actually come on the Z? Nah, that can't be it, can it?

No it doesn't rattle, its a pretty bad *** car, extremely solid. I'd say if you were near by I could take you for a test drive in it. If the transmission wasn't garbage I wouldn't be able to find anything to complain about except wanting more power, bigger brakes, JIC coilovers and race track.
