sedan sport shocks vs 350z shocks
 

i have a 05 6mt sedam with sport suspension. just recently installed unrevised 350z springs... what are the benefits or cons for switching out the my sport shocks for the 350z shocks... or couse i would have to go to the revised for the rears. just cuirious between the two.... i see alot of sport sedans going with the full 350 z spring and shock suspension setup...

The 350Z springs are to get a drop.

skull, there's a sticky in the sedan section that gives you all the spring rates etc.; not sure if it goes into the specs of the shocks but you may find the info you're looking for there.

I'm running revised Z springs with OEM sport shocks on an 05' sedan and I can't imagine the Z shocks being an upgrade over the ride quailty and handling that I already have. It's perfect for me.

-goober... how does the ride feel with the revised springs on the rear... from what i read the spring rate is high and that you will prematurely wear out your shocks. thats reason why i wen twith the unrevised.

thanks swivial for the update from the link... as you can read about my post i am wondering if there are any benefits of the oem g35 sport"shocks" vs thw oem 350z "shocks... as you know i imstalled the unrevised 350z springs due to the spring rate to be identical... my questions is that whats the diff between the two shocks, the pros and cons.

If the valving is the same in both shocks we all know that Z shocks are designed for the height of Z springs which is 1 inch shorter than sedan springs. That being said Z shocks would be a better match if u are lowering ur car in general.

Yes the spring rate on revised rears is nearly doubled over stock 05 non sports I believe( don't have numbers handy), but since the shock piston stroke moves only what the spring allows it to I can't see how the shock will wear faster than a Z shock which would move the same distance. I agree that the stroke would be 1" lower in the tube but I never hit bumpstops largly due to the high spring rates. Not saying that others haven't had issues, just saying that I personally never have and I hit RR tracks at whatever speed I'm going and sail right over with no issues.
