350Z suspension problem

Hi, I just got my 350Z suspension installed on my G35 sedan. The handling improved a lot since i have a non sports package. The problem is, now its making a rattling sound from the suspensions. Just wondering what it could be, any hint on what the problem might be would help a lot. Thx

Recheck all the bolts, it's all to easy to forget something. I once drove off without tightning one of the rear lower shock bolts.

Man going from non sport to that is a big jump.

Yup, make sure everything is tightened down. Make sure no parts are off and may be in contact with another part. This may seem like a no brainer but also check that your wheels were put back on straight and that the lugs are torqued down properly. Good luck.

check the above recommendations.

On a similar note, I just installed me 04 Z suspension last week and have NO rattles or strange sounds. This was one of the reasons I went with the Z suspension over Tein + aftermarket shock. I knew that the OEM quality would translate into a solid, noise free suspension.

Don't forget to check all of the strut tower bolts as well.

Thanks for the replies. I just hope the Z suspensions i received are not damaged. I actually got it installed in a shop, going to go back and have them take a look at it.

I got mine for $200 shipped and cost me $100 for install. Anyone know what a hub bearing is, cuz that was where the rattling was coming from since it was loose. Getting my car check my dealer on tomorrow since the person who installed it didnt want to or couldnt fix it..

Re: 350Z suspension problem

All wheels have bearings packed into their hub (the hub in the center of the brakes). Typically new cars don't suffer from poorly packed bearings. The dealer should fix it under warranty but since suspension work has been done they may blame it on the associated modding.

How did they determine it was the bearings? It sounds to me like they didn't want to deal with their F-up so they made some BS up to get you out of their shop. Put 2 and 2 together. You installed a suspension and now you get rattles. How could a part of a hub fail? Bad hub bearing don't rattle either. They groan and vibrate. $20 says the shop forget to tighten down the strut mount, strut bolt, left out chassis to strut hat gaskets, or the most obvious is the springs are lacking the OEM coil rubber insulators. This causes a noise when the coils touch each other over bumps. The noise is typically a rattle/clunk. Chances are the owner of the 350Z used the OEM insulators on this aftermarket coils.
