I need help- can't push down brake pedal
so I just went to leave to my gf's house and when I go to put my car in gear I can barely move m brake pedal. It's like stuck! If I press real hard it will atop a lil( rolling down my drveway) what could this be! :(
i would say either no pressure or too much pressure in the brakes.. maybe pocket of air... i got no clue im just throwing ish out there...
oh fucck I think I know what it is! I'll chime in tomorrow and let you know, since I'm not at home now!
Okay, stuck and no braking. Odd. So none of the calipers seem to be moving I assume. That sorta rules out a seized caliper. I'm guessing faulty master cylinder. Especially if it's hard to press when the car is turned off also. ie.. would tend to rule out the brake booster.

I put some pi thon hose locks on today I think I may have flipped a valve around the wrong way. Cause I was driving the car like 5 hours ago and it was fine!
yeah check em over again...
What? Hose clamps = no braking?
^yes, check the hose that goes from the plenum to the battery compartment. It has a check valve, so if you put it on the wrong way, it could cause a problem.
^What Sean said. There are actually 2 check valves in that line but I doubt you touched the one in the brake compartment.
the hose is on backwards dur da dur
ok well it wasn't what I thought. By the hose I was thinking it was was the one that goes to the evap sensor, it's on the passenger side right below that heater hose, it has that green cap and it says don't exceed 1 psi. Do you think that had anything to do with?
The brakes were perfectly fine when I parked! I took pics but I'm on my iPhone so if you give me your email I can send the pics if you don't know what hose I'm talking about. |
This same thing happens to me, but only on cold days during the winter. After I let the car warm up for about 5 minutes, it corrects itself...I haven't messed with any of the hoses.
Anyone? |
obvious question, but did you try starting your car with your foot on the brakes?
No^
Im uploading pics right now of what i took off |
