Any one replace their lower ball joints?

I'll have a look at it today.


Also, I have another noise coming from the rear. It's a pretty bad metal on metal clanking sound when going over bumps.

I need to replace my ball joints as well...are the ebay ones pretty good? whats the dif. between those and OEM?

So these are the lower ball joints at the knuckle? Whats the difference from the other ball joints on ebay? Looks like those have a zerk fitting on them and the others dont. Has anyone confirmed if they would fit an 03 g35 coupe?

I've ordered the ebay joints, as well as "Whiteline Plus Urethane Front Lower Inner/Outer Control Arm/Shock Mount Bushings 2002-2008 350Z/2003-2006 G35 Coupe " from z1. I'm going to try to install on an awd setup, ill post confirmation if everything works.

replaced my ball joint , here are some pix and how to vids:
tools you`ll need:
floor jack & jack stands
needle nose pliers
ball joint press (rent from autozone & advanced auto parts for $100)
ratchet or breaker bar..i think a 19 socket
may need ball joint separater


remove snap ring with needle nose :

unscrew top of balljoint and use jack to lift and separate control arm

wow...

I pressed mine in and they are too long...by almost 7mm.

and now my OEM ones are trashed

the shafts are too long. I ended up getting a spring washer and a flat washer and its good to go.

btw.

how did you get the bottom of the dust boot to seat?

i just set it in place, put the control arm back, then tightened the caste nut
