Who's Using SPL Version 2 A-Arms?
I recently ordered v-2 upgrade... but havent really read any reviews about them yet...
Anyone have 'em? |
Your mom has them.

^^^ huh? :dunno:

I have had them for about 4 months now with no issues. I had the 1st version and they would constantly clunk over bumps and these don't. However, they just sent me a bearing pack b/c they say that some of the ball joints are not lubricated enough and are not turning properly so make sure they either fix it for you or give you the new bearing lubricant.

My version 1 clunk too… I think it’s the hex bolt on the outside mount (ball joint) works its way loose… I haven’t received my v-2 yet, but Kua did mention something about a recent fix, so I’m sure the ones I get will have what you mentioned. I didn’t read anything negative about the first version – I thought I was the only one with the clunk – hopefully v-2 hold up well… do you track ever? |
It wasn't the hex bolts on mine, it was the actual arm that the hex bolt screwed into that was hitting the fender well.
I have never tracked the car but I tend to drive it pretty hard from time to time and so far they hold up great. Unfortunately, I was only able to get about a +1 degree of pos camber out of them using all the little blocks they give you so I am sitting at about -1.5 on both sides. |

For the upgrade, did you need to send the old ones in advance or do they have some kind of core charge? The v2 looks a lot more solid than the original. Mine also got the hex bolt loose once but that was it.

$100 core charge

you won't get more than ~ 1 degree of positive adjustment using ANY aftermarket camber arm. There just isn't room in the fenderwell. You either need the SPC spacers, or modify the fenderwell for more clearance for a longer arm.

I think what he means is if you are sitting with a lot of negative camber already, these wont get you back out more than 1 degree positive… as most know, when you are lowered more than mild, the camber is aggressively negative – with the v1 arms there was a lot of adjustability… if I were to use OEM A-arms with the springs I’m on, it would be more than –3… with the v-1 SPL I could set it to 0 if desired.
I had the v-2 installed Sat and with all the spacers in it still was –2.5 (sitting 1.5 with v-1)… but taking out 2 full turns from snug on the caster adjusting bolts gave another +1 camber (I referring to the bolts on the backside of the chassis mount)… the bad thing is you have to take the arms completely off to adjust those. I don’t think the caster adjusters were intended to be used for more positive camber, but it worked… however, I haven’t checked the caster specs so I’m not sure if they are on or not (in theory if both bolts are the exact same length when adjusted it shouldnt effect caster) – I’ll find out later when I have time for full alignment. |
For me the v1 worked perfectly taking the front into specs w/o any problems. Now to reach that point both camber and caster adjusters had to be taken very close to the limit set by SPL. I'm not sure if I could take the same results with v2 following what you guys are saying.

i got the V-1 in a box. opened the the box but not the plastic package..im thinking about changing them in for the V-2.
