Coilover Questions???

I have looking into springs and coilovers for lowering my car and am probably going to go with coilovers but I just need to understand a few things before I start dropping money into it. First, do I need a camber kit, strut bar, swaybay, arms, etc... to run coilovers or are there certain coilovers you can get to avoid this stuff such as Tein Basics?? thanks for the help, much appreciated..

It is recommended that you get a camber kit if you lower your car more than 1" not to eat the tires quickly. Since you are getting coilovers, you will probably end up lowering the car more than 1".

Strut bars and sway bars have nothing to do with the coilovers, but they do improve handling (sway bars more than strut).

You haven't searched enough other wise you wouldn't be asking these questions.

But i'll answer your questions. If you get coilovers it is highly recommended that you get a camber kit in both the front and the rear (especially if you plan on going low) so your tires don't get eaten up.

You do not need strut bars and sway bars in order to run the coilovers although they would compliment each other.

piggyback question... Does an alignment need to be done after installing coils? Can it be done? I know some shops won't touch a car with aftermarket suspension.

It's recommended. Also you will most likely need aftermarket camber kits (F/R) in order to get your desired spec.

Since you're local Elite Imports in Laurel does any type of install for very good prices. Unfortunately, they don't have an alignment machine you would most likely have to go to a dealership.
