NEW SPL PRO front compression rod bushings

Sat, Sep 5, 2009 at 4:27 PM Do these bushing replace the bushing in the compression rods on the 2003-2006 RWD G35? The stock compression rods bushing have been know to tear and make noise and Nissan has revised the compression rod bushings but I was wondering if the bushings in the SPL complete set replace the ones on the compression rods also. These bushings replace only the lower arm bushings, they do not replace the compression rod bushings. Bout time. My replacements are holding up fine, but nice to know there's an aftermarket option.

+1^ That creaking noise is kind of embarrassing for a G35. Kind of questionable if it's acceptable for a car that was 35k new. But you get twice the options for an equally priced 3 series.

I hope they don't try and charge out the *** for them, if they don't they are going to sell a tonne.

I highly doubt they will charge more than $100. The other bushing sets they offer which is more than 2 in a set cost only a little more than $100.

Just remember folks, there's good reason why OEM bushings are rubber and race bushing are metal. It's called NVH or noise, vibration, and harshness. Anyone purchasing race-style bushing setups should understand the NVH increase (sometimes significant).

I agree. I've ridden in cars setup for autoX and road racing with spherical type bushings on the control arms and it was a NVH nightmare. Of course, this is one bushing...but still curious to see the impact. To be quite honest, if it results in noticable harshness, i think i'd prefer to use OEM rubber instead. Would they sell them as bushings only to press into your stock arms, or the entire arm? |
Bushing only. They have to pressed in. I have access to equipment at a shop to press them in.

those bushing will do the trick (in terms of wear)...
but like others mentioned - my concern is ride comfort... I sacrifice a bit in general - but until I start using solid mounts, I doubt I will use metal bushings... $50 every 20K miles or so is no biggie to me... |
