Quick question about dropping on 19's +12 offsets.
Hey guys I'm wondering if I will need front camber kits if i drop 1.2" F and 1.1"R. I have 19x9.5 and 19x10.5 +12's. Is it necessary to get front camber kits or will I be able to adjust the OEM toe / camber to spec?
usually an inch is about the limit, it depends on every application how far out of spec you end up going.
I got Varrstoens and just ordered some 350z tein-stech's. What do you (guys) think?
You will need a front camber. I am running the same springs on lesser aggressive wheels. And I needed a front and rear
Wheels aren't really going to matter too often with that small of a drop but you are most likely going to need camber kits, so you might as well go with coils! Btw I'm running same rims as you, here is a pic before I added spacers on the rear. Spacers are necessary imo, I wish I would've gone for +0 in the rears >.>

I'm on the Tein CS and I'm running single digit offsets and would strongly recommend getting a camber/toe kit to keep everything in spec. PM if you need some help. Car looks good though.
Here's mine with the SPC setup and I am not that far out of factory spec http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...k/backshot.jpg |
^ sick ! Is it advisable to get some aftermarket shocks like tokico hp or d-specs as well? Which one of the two would you recommend. I'm not planning to slam my car. It's my dd .
oh yeah, how do you guys manage through bumps and dips? I already scrape as is ... without a drop, too.
I would suggest changing over to a full adjustable setup if you can if not then go with a decent shock. As for bumps and dips I just avoid the majority of them. Speed bumps and ramps I go up/down on/off at an angle. Also I'm a big fan of the D-specs as my friend has them and they ride pretty darn good. SLAM IT or GO HOME...lol j/k...mine is daily driven too :D
Haha i go to college in a city with endless potholes and uneven pavement :/ . What do you think about the tokico hp ? I'm kind of on a tight budget. I've heard good reviews about them.
I really wouldn't buy shocks and springs separate unless you are a track car and you are going for a certain strut for it's distinct performance value. If you are going to buy both, you are much closer to an entry coilover price which is fine for a DD.
And really driving lowered just takes getting used to, potholes aren't bad for being lowered it is more problematic on stretched tires. But you just angle things and go slower over crappy roads and bumps, it definitely isn't impossible or way too extreme imo. |
Isn't an entry level coilover still around $100? Haha yeah I already do angle at stock height because my front nismo sits pretty low. I normally angle at every dip or bump, it gets a bit annoying. I can see people who are behind me like "WTF is this guy doing" ahaha
