Which newer model brakes fit 2003 G35 sedan

I've got a 2003 6MT which I bought the day these cars came out, and I need to improve braking a bit, the rotors are just too small. Infiniti made bigger rotors on 2005+ model year sedans, and the coupes, of course, had Brembos too. I'm thinking of picking up a used set of these bigger brakes.

However, I can't find fitment information anywhere.
So, does anyone know where I can find out which Infiniti (or maybe even 350Z) calipers and rotors will fit my 2003 6MT sedan without modification? I don't want to buy a used set to find they won't clear something. I'm willing to go up to 18" wheels, just worried about all the mounting holes.

Thanks.

How about akebono?

Why don't you just try to find a pair of OEM Brembos? They bolt right up. All you need is new rotors, and different bolts for the rear calipers. You will need to trim your rear dust shields. Get some SS lines while you are at it. I got Goodridge lines.

05-06 Brakes are cheap, work just as good as the Brembo's and are a hell of alot Cheaper. hit up James or Tony at OCInfiniti. Tell them Hotdawwgman referred you and they will take care of you. I have them on mine and they are amazing compared to the 03-04 brakes! They feel good, last longer and a heck of a lot less dust than the original ones!

Thanks for the info. Hotdawwgman, do you know if the 05-06 calipers clear the 2003 17" 5-spoke wheels?

Hotdawwgman 04-12-2012 05:09 PM

as far as I know they do. I have stock 350z Wheels on my car and they clear no problem.

If you want the biggest bang for your buck in braking improvment and response...you can do this:
1)Change to more aggressive pads..Stoptech Street Performance
2) Change out Brake fluid (if you haven't since new)
3) SS Brake lines
4) Optional>>> Power Slot rotors..You can get all 4 for around $300.
They have *kits* for this (Rotors, pads.SS lines), but you will save a lot getting these separately.
4) Better tires (if you don't already have them)

Nah, I need bigger brakes. i occasionally track this car when my track car is broken, and the rotors are too small, I got the last ones so hot, they shattered and had pieces falling out.

2005 brakes add 1" of swept area and will dissipate faster, sounds like a good bet.

I have an 08 Z. Yes, brakes are bigger with dual front pistons (rear calipers are same, but you'll need updated bracket to fit larger rotor.)
Having said this...If you occassionaly track the car, it's probably not going to help as much as you think. ( A BIG BRAKE KIT will). Were those shattered rotors drilled? The power slots (slotted not drilled) will keep rotors fairly cool (special vane design). You can also get them cryo treated ($20 extra) which really helps with cracking and warping. Either way (06 upgrade or staying 03 stock size), I would get the power slot rotors with cryo. I just ordered rear Power slots cryoed for my 08 for $197 shipped. Fronts would be a little more. That's for 06 up. You can get em cheaper for your 03 as well.

BTW..this is what I have on my fronts :).

Good luck.

I've got DBA-4000 rotors with Ferodo DS3000 pads, slotted, not drilled. Drilling makes them fragile. They're just taking too much heat for their size. The binder in the DS3000 pads breaks down at 1400F, and mine crumbled, so they went way over that. I had 1600F thermal paint on the rotors, and that burned off, so they went over 1600F, and were glowing. It's really cool, but expensive :) My track car weighs 1400lb less than the G35 and has bigger brakes.

I should just drive thing more sedately at the track when I do it, but I want to see if I can make the situation a little better. Ideally, I'd get huge brakes, but this car is near worthless now and I don't want to put too much money in it.

I didn't need a bracket...

importroller 03-18-2013 11:02 PM

instead of starting a new thread, I figured I would ask it in this one since it's pretty much the same issue Im having. I wanted to know if anyone has installed the 06 brakes on an 04 coupe (non brembo) and if so, do I need any special brackets to make them bolt up? I've been searching on here for hours now, and can't seem to find what i'm looking for. But I'm still searching

Blue Dream 03-19-2013 03:15 PM

Thanks for searching and to answer your question the 06 brakes are a direct bolt on swap to your 04. they'll dust a lot less and stop just as good.

importroller 03-20-2013 02:05 PM

Thanks, Now I'm thinking about the G37 brake setup swapped. These are going on my 07 Altima by the way, and they have the same brake setup as my 04 G35. I'm a mod on another forum, so I always search first. Just took a long, long time to sort through all the other threads that didn't really answer any questions

GT-[R] 05-06-2014 08:02 PM

does anybody have the part number for the 05/06 rear calipers?

Are these correct? And they are direct bolt on for 2003 g35 sedan?
