Look on the bright side.. they'll wear out in only 10-15,000 miles, and then you can replace them with low-dust pads!

One option is EBC Greenstuff pads, though I don't think anyone has tried them on a G35 yet, I hear they're pretty good, and I'll be swapping mine with these when it's time. The EBC part number for the front pads is DP21636. brakesrus.com seems to have them, and tirerack.com has EBC, too, but tirerack doesn't show the Infiniti G35 yet.. though they may have that part number in stock (it fits Maxima's too). There isn't a part number available for the rear yet, but those don't leave much dust.

Chill, buddy. And turn off your caps lock. That rant is hurting my eyes.

I hear the BMW guys go with Axxis pads to stop dust, but I haven't seen a part number for a G35 in that brand yet.

Another rant on dust.. the dealership's free-wash service does a crappy job of getting it off. They sort of hit-and-miss the bottom half of the wheel (whatever the bottom half happens to be when they're washing it) and it winds up looking worse than if they just didn't wash the wheels at all.

Re: What is up with all that brake dust?!

Not too long ago, we thought they didn't. But if you're referring to the thread I think you are, someone posted that part number in there.

It appears that the pads are the same as previous Maxima's and I30's, so they did make them, but nobody cross-checked the part numbers until now.

Hey ryoken, I thought I was the only one who was critical of Infinity's free car wash. They always never clean the wheels correctly. They also seem to always leave micro-swirl scratches from the rags they use. I will have request that my dealership not wash my car due to the level of service they provide. Will see how this goes.

They don't always get all the bug guts off the grill, either.

Re: What is up with all that brake dust?!

I have on my Non- Brembo G; a set of Hawk HPS brake pads that don't dust NEARLY as much as the stock pads.

They were installed 3/21/03. The level of dust has been reduced by 95 - 98%. Brake dust is simply not an issue for me anymore. Brake bite seems to have been improved too.
So far- no squeeling either. The Hawk part # is: HB268

Got them from Essex in Cumming, Ga. Naturally I can't find their number!!! But you can call Hawk Perf. @ 330 722 4295 and get the info.

Re: What is up with all that brake dust?!

I just purchased the EBC pads (part # DP21636) this week. I will try to get them installed this weekend. Will post results.

Rain X sells a brake dust repellant that you can spray on your wheels. I haven't tried it yet, but just bought some today. I'll be tryin it out and lettn you know how it works. I've heard good things from a few of my friends.
