Dropping my coupe with 20's, fitment questions , confused from all the research ..
1 Attachment(s)
I have a 2005 g35 5at sport with 245/35/20's on it , the rims are either 20x8.5 or 20x9.5 , im not sure coz i bought it with em on but thats what the manufacturer makes them in ...
I think researching has confused me more then before ..all im trying to do is clear the gap while keeping a comfortable ride ( i dont race or track , just for looks ) i also dont want it "slammed" . I was gonna pull the trigger on some Eibach prokit g35 coupe springs and a rear camber kit , but after reading i hear people saying that if i have the sport package then its better to get 350z lowering springs instead because of spring rates??? Also will I need spacers and will i have to roll my fenders Attachment 201630 |
No one will be able to really answer your questions until you know exactly what your wheel specs and offsets are.
|
heres the link for the wheel / size and i think the wheels are 8.5 x 20 .. they are stern st-2 touring .. btw i realized they have to be 8.5 based on the specs
http://www.maxspeedperformance.com/x...1&shop_by=size |
so based on the bolt pattern which should be 5x114.3 , the offset is either 20 , 32 or 38 lol with the size of 20x8.5 can anyone tell from the picture.. At least i narrowed it down that much lol
|
The offset may be stamped somewhere on the inner barrel of the wheel.
|
Best way is to take off 1 wheel on the front and one on the rear and check . the link only shows us what wheel options there are so it can be any size until you take it off and check .
remove wheel turn it over on the spoke somewhere it will tell you 20x? and et ? |
Those are conservative off sets, you shouldn't have clearance issues. I'd rather see you go with Tein 350Z H-Techs, closes the gap and gives you a factory ride. Had you really done as much research as you claim you'd also be buying/installing a front camber kit. It doesn't matter how much you lower our Gs without the camber kit you'll be buying tires frequently! I'm using SPL adjustable a-arms, with the right install and alignment you can get very close to OE specs....Gary

ok im heading to the garage to pull a wheel off ....
Gary , i did the research and will def be buying a front camber kit as wel however when the previous owner installed the wheels and tires im pretty sure he didnt align it after because the 2 front tires are wearing uneven so the lifespan on them will probably last 5000 miles before i need to replace them ( rear are still new ) , so i figured ill break the payments up to be easier on me and get the 2 front tires and front camber kit together.... |
I'm running -2.5* up front and my previous set of tires wore pretty much evenly for 40k miles.

geez , thats kinda odd i would think , your one of the lucky ones im guessing
ok so they are 20x8.5 and the offset is 32 , at least thats what im thinking because the rim only comes in either a 20 or 32 offset for g35 , and it says 32 on the wheel, so now that we got that figured out :) Attachment 201622 |

ohhh , gary think you pretty much answered my question now that i re-read ... then ill go ahead and buy the 350z h-techs since a stock like ride is what im looking for ... so you dont think any spacers will be needed ... just want to buy everything all at once
|
just checked the rear wheels they are the same as up front ... i also looked into the tien h techs and they are only .3 / .2 " drop ??? i have an 1.25" give or take a bit up front/back of space?
