Advice on BC BR type coilover adjustment
 

I just got my new set of BC BR type coilovers.
I have a question about the ride height and stiffness adjustment.

It was helpful but there were some things on his posts that left me a bit confused.
On step 15, he adjusts the height buy loosening lower lock nut and then twisting the top lock nut counter clockwise to lower the car. I spoke to BC tech support and he was telling me to remove the lower strut bolt and then twist the strut so that it twist up therefore making car lower.
Which way is better/safer ??

Also, what stiffness setting do most people have out there for daily driving??
I was thinking 10 rear, and 14 front? (0 is stiffest, 30 is softest).
Does this sound good??

As far as the height goes adjust it by removing the bottom bolt and twisting the strut. So you will have to loosen the very bottom locking collar. Doing it the other way messes with the preload on the springs.

Ok thanks for that. I will be doing the installation later today. I will post up before and after if I can and also some advice for others installing these coilovers.

Take off the front endlinks before you take of the front struts. It will make everything 100 times easier.

I need help adjusting my coilovers. This is my first set ever so I don't know what settings I should use. I'm attaching a pic. Any suggestions are helpful.

So I just got back from the shop, got the coilovers installed pretty easily. I believe my mechanic adjusted the rear shocks incorrectly. We compressed the spring in the rear a little so that the spring wasn't loose in the basket and had a little pressure on it and then lined up the shock with the whole (17mm slot) and tightened.
Although, the rear shock wasn't tightened up against the frame by the two 12mm bolts before we lined it up with the bottom whole. So pretty much to get the shock against the frame we had to compress the spring even more.
If my thinking is right, right now there is too much pressure on the shock. Meaning the shocks are doing all the compressing while the spring barely has any pressure on it. And this is probably not good for the shock in the long run, I assume.

Is my thinking right?? Should I adjust the rear shocks again tomorrow, and this time keep the top 2 12mm bolts tightened against the frame and take off the bottom 17 mm bolt and readjust it to meet with the whole??


Gdirtyfive55 : What do you need help in? The stiffness? Follow the link in my first post, it has instructions for the whole installation. The only step I did different was Step 15, adjusting ride height.

I'm talking about my scoot! Look closely. It has adjustable coilovers. I think they're JDM.
