Alignment shop can't align rear camber, other shop said I need new rear camber arms.
 

I got new tires yesterday, but the place I went said they couldn't align the car without new cam bolts for the rear. They told me they'd order these bolts, and perform the work the following day.

So today I go to pick up the car after work, and they tell me the alignment tested fine on their machine! They also said they would have to have their rack calibrated and to return next week.

Needless to say, I went to an alignment specific shop for a second opinion. Clearly my camber is out, you can see it plain as day. Anyhow, the alignment shop said I'd have to get new rear camber arms (at $230 a pop!) to actually do it right.

So my question is: what are these arms, and can I get cheaper/better versions of them?

So you just jack the car up, install those in place of the lower arm and then rear camber can be set? It seems odd that I'd need an aftermarket part to set this. I'm not trying to stance the car, just get factory alignment settings.

I can't remember what they said it was. I never got a printout because the shop that put the tires on said they couldn't do the alignment that day, so they didn't print the hunter rack results. Then they said today their rack measured it in spec (which it is not) and to return in a week after their machine was re calibrated.

I have a feeling that the tire shop simply doesn't know how to do the work, and won't admit it. Here in Nebraska most places are more experienced with American cars and trucks. What really bothers me is that they could have at least done the front wheels,those shouldn't require too much in the way of extra skill or parts.

Left front: camber -0.81, caster 8.32, toe .04
Right front: camber -1.29, caster 8.64, toe -.04
Left rear: camber -1.82, toe -.01
Right rear: camber -1.57, toe 0
