Compression Rod Bushing..... or Sway Bar End Link?

So I have had this knocking noise coming from my front left wheel area for quite some time... its now gotten to the point where it is getting really annoying. So recently had my car in the shop having the drive shaft replaced and I asked them to look at the bushings and they said they couldn't see anything wrong. What they did think it might be is a sway bar end link? Would these two noises be anything alike? I thought for sure they would say the bushings were shot but he literally couldn't find anything that looked worn enough to be making any noise. I'm lost and I'm worried its going to cause other problems in the near future.

With the wheels on the ground, try and wiggle the sway bar linkage. It shouldn't move, unless your middle name is Hercules.

The comp rod is simple to examine. Look at it, is it worn out? If so, spray it up TODAY with a penetrating oil so it has time to get in there and make you/your mechanics life a lot easier in a couple of days.

I'd replace the whole arm as the ball joint is non-replaceable. And swap in energy bushings at that time. Yes, on a brand new rod.

The end links pivot on the bushing, but I did find out what the issue is. Look at this.... it never ends.https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/g35driv...3706b0f964.jpghttps://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/g35driv...1e6865944f.jpg

Damn haha. Well Rockauto.com to find a well priced replacement part.

How did your mechanic miss THAT?! It's completely torn off!
