KYB Shocks Question

Today I received a package in the mail for 4 new KYB struts. Upon opening them for inspection I realized only 3 of the 4 shocks were partially compressed. Should I contact the seller and ask for a new shock to replace the one that was missing the band?

Lol no. They all decompress when you cut the band anyway. Unless you otherwise have proof that it's used (like it's dirty or something) there are 0 miles it. No big deal whatsoever. Push the shaft against the wall or ground and it'll compress to fit again.

That band falls off in shipping all the time. They're fine. The shocks are gas filled, so you should be able to press the rod in and it will slowly push back out.

I've used KYB shocks/struts for many of my cars for years. The shocks I just got for my 240SX actually poked thru the box. So inspect the threads on top, if there's no damage, then you're good to go.
