Help! Question/problems with my Akebono upgrade
 

I have my car back and I am a little worried about the fact that my rotor has not rubbed off all of the coating from the surface of the rotor.

So my question is do the calipers look like they are on all the way? Is there any way that they could be on there wrong? The rotors seemed like the right size the were bought for a 2008 sport model, the measurements look right best I can tell. With the coating on the rotor is this normal? I am bringing the car back to the shop to have steel braided line added, something I should have done off the bat but did not. The brakes have to be re-bleed as well because I am still having the issue that I originally had with my pedal being mostly gone, the shop thought there might be some leaking with my line on the right side. To me the bottom looks a few centimeters, off the top is closer. The those few centimeters look like they would make the rotor wear properly.

Right now my question is are the calipers installed right, and the other initial brake problems are of course a concern, but not what I am wondering about? The top part of the caliper seems to sit good but the bottom tolerance is more than the top, Is this normal? Over the phone when I described this to the shop he figured that the brake needed to wear down a little then the rest of the rotor should have the coating cleaned off.

The gap at the top looks correct but should the inside of the caliper, as in the gap from the bottom of the caliper to the rotor be further away.( not the surface of the rotor)

To me it looks like if the caliper was close it would solve my problem. This is the bottom, the top is closer to the rotor.

when I say gap i do not mean the surface of the rotor to caliper, this pic does not really highlight my issue.

Ugh pollen and dirt. I hate having to park in dirt.

I am not sure why there is no indentation even after I edited it, oh well. Hmm looking at the pics some of them from the second day there is more that has rubbed off and the black part is not as bad, perhaps they guy was right but it still looks like more needs to come off the rotor.

Your wear looks normal to me. The wear spot will only be as wide as the pad obviously. On the dust shield question, if you don't have any more noises when driving it should be fine. Inspect the dust shields visually to make sure no part of them is hitting the rotors anywhere. Spongy brake feel could mean you need a master cylinder replacement.

If your problems persist you might need to have a séance to find out the solutions. :eek:

Looks like Ill know what it needs shortly. I still feel like the bottom of the caliper to rotor is off. The top looks good. I hope all is good but I could have a bad break master cylinder or leak to re bleed a few more times. Hopefully steel breaded line re bleeding the brakes again solved most of my problems

sorry, I can't make it through your one page paragraph.

It is actually wrote as three but did not show up that way. Then I went in and corrected it but still it showed up like this. I said screw it after that.

Edit. There,I do not know why the system does not like indents but I double spaced.

Another update shop the said one of them needs to be resealed. The calipers where supposed to be rebuilt already. One thing after another. They also, durring my first visit,replaced my front studs after problems with my lug nuts.
