I've installed the Eibachs on my coupe. I liked the idea they have the urethane bushings and lateral collars. My initial settings are soft front, medium rear. Noticible improvement over stock but was wondering if any other coupe owners have experimented with these settings. What have you settled on?

Eibach Coupe stiffness settings? Others?

Dealer installed my Stillens. HUGE difference, even with a nuetral setting.

This is basically a resurrection because there is so little info posted about the Nismo Sways.

Were there different revisions from 2003 till now?

How much of a difference are they in comparison to stock? (percentages would be most applicable here)

Are they adjustable?

Progress Technology makes an exceptional set of adjustable sway bars for the Coupe.

22mm rear and 33mm front. Upgrading sway bars is a great suspension mod that is an easy bolt on modification - relatively cheap, and will give you great bang for the buck.

That could be a good thing. Keeps the weight lower.

Solid bar construction for better strength and consistent performance with less chance of the bar bending gradually over time - it's a proven technology.

Unless you are racing and weight gains is a major concern, you won't notice the difference on the street, and as 636Racer pointed out, low-placed weight on a car is not a bad thing - even a race car. putting those big heavy sound systems up in the interior of the car is going to have a more negative impact on your handling performance than a pair of solid sway bars! ;o)

No revision has been done to the Nismo bars, though oem bar's have seen revision's. All the current data lean's towards a front bars being stiffer on 04.5+ Z's, 05 G coupes with oem 19's, and 2005 sedan's. The data that exists is soley on the 350Z as no one has done any footwork on the G35's, but history show's us the G35 has followed the Z in oem bar useage. When a 04.5+ Z front bar was weighed against a pre 04.5+ car, their was a weight differance, yet the bar's outside diameters are the same. We believe that this is do to thicker wall constuction inside it's hollow walls. Current calculation's give this bar about a 20% increase in strength.

So what does this mean. Nothing really, it changes nothing since you are still best served by picking a adjustable sway bar setup that can adjust front and rear. We should not be in the business of trying to pick bars based on percentage of stiffness higher then oem. Sway bars should be used to fine tune a chassis setup that has been dialed in. Use sway bars to fine tune a already well sorted setup, not well sorted you say, make other changes first to get their, then use adjustable sway bars to fine tune.

The only reason to specifically pin down high bar strength's is because you are directly pinned down to SCCA class rules which limit you to changing your front bar only. The highest front bar strength's can be found in the following product order.

Hollow bar construction gives up very little to solid core construction, but then do weigh less. Pitting solid vs hollow is not a way to win a arguement.

For those that are watching weight, no amount of discussion will warp physics, just because the parts are low is of little consequence. In the end the best way to make the sale has to do with the value of the product on the whole. Do the progress bars adjust front and rear and offer greater then oem bar stiffness front and rear? That is where the game will won or lost, weight isn't really what I'd worry about.

You really sure about that, the EVO bar's are solid and are thicker, giving me reason to believe that they'd weigh more on a scale. Though I don't have EVO bar weights at hand.

I'd say something but something tell's me your choices are based more on what comes your way from a sponcer vs any reason's to do otherwise for the benefit of extracting the best from the car.

Stillen Sways and Strut
 

I'm thinking of getting Stillen Sways as my first mod on my 05 6mt. I'm also debating if I should get the rear Stillen Strut Bar at the same time on stock sport-tuned suspension. Do you guys think that I should just get the sways and get the strut later? Or should I invest on both at the same time? STRUT COMMENTS WELCOME!!!

Actually, I inquired with my sponcer to provide them for me and they've never suggested them to me. I could say I went into a pond without knowing if there's any aligators in it.

Opinions backed by experiences with Tanabe would be nice. If you have any experiences using the Tanabe swaybars...I'd like to read about them. :)
