I just called the nearest Nissan dealer to see how much it would cost to install S-techs and I was quoted $750!! Is that right? How much did it cost you guys? Can you DIY?

I don't know where you are at, but here in Orlando you can get it done for about $120.00

 

Same here in West Palm Beach local tuner shop charges 120.00 for springs/ 170.00 for coilover.

-Here is a advice, instead of going to the dealer, go to a near by tuner shop.

 

Definitely a DIY. I mean, you could buy all the tools you need and more, and still spend less than that.

So then my next question does anyone know of a reliable tuner shop in Chicago that could install these?

 

Go some where else . Thats almost $200 an hour . Shouldnt have to pay over $80 an hour

Don't I need something to compress the springs in order to put them on?

 

yes you need spring compressors but you dont necessarily need to go out and buy em..you can just take your springs and shocks to a shop and have them do it for 15 - 20 bucks. thats what i did, spent 60 bucks all together.

You shouldn't be paying more than $200 for a good install from a decent mechanic or speed shop. Or spend less than that to buy the tools you'd need, do it yourself, and have tools to use for other things later on...

 

Go ANYWHERE besides the dealer. It is called a stealership for a reason. Zero Point Industries in Louisville Ky did the install for 100$, it took just under 2 hours. The alignment cost 0$ as the goodyear shop realighend it under an alignmnet warranty.

Note: before you pay for something talk to the people who are doing the work, as they will likely appreciate it and tell you the best way to go about getting what you want. I actually had the lead Infiniti tech at the local stealership tell me 2 different shops to go to once my warranty was up that he preferred. That's high quality service if you ask me!

 

diy, go to an auto store and borrow a spring compressor. its not hard to do plus u get to know more about your car. for a beginner it would probly take you a few hours to do.
