Brake noise

Hi all, new here. Just purchased my '03 AT Coupe at 34k though it's 2 mos. past the free pad replacement date.

The thing about the noise is that I am not so sure the pads are worn. I only hear it from the front wheels, and only when applying light pedal pressure. When I'm braking with intention to stop, there's no noise. But if I'm easing down to stop, you can definitely here it.

Is it the pads? I was thinking since it doesn't sound like scraping, it could might instead be something with the rotor/caliper alignment?

TIA

I'll see how the noise goes after bedding them in. Of note, I received some advice from my friend.
so, the pads are not worn, but it is the pads making the noise. The dust makes them essnetially vibrate at a high frequency, and that makes the metal backing on the pad vibrate against the metal of the caliper, creating the squeel. Generally, there is not much you can do, but when replaicng pads, you can add some gooey stuff to the back of the pads, to dampen the vibrations, but generally I can't recommend it, and instead just recommend trying different compound pads.

The dealer took a look and reported the noise is because my brake pads did not have Shims installed. They say it won't interfere with anything except the noise. The previous owner messed up big time somehow on that.
