There are few in my area but I don't know if I want an AT or MT...my father is friends with sales people at our local Nissan dealer and they have a few out there now actually.

where I live now, the traffic isn't too bad (except early morning and 4/5 pm work traffic) but I am moving to West Ashley (close to downtown Charleston which is CONSTANTLY packed) this summer...which leads to a few questions:

1. I never learned to drive stick, always wanted too tho. How long does it take to learn how to drive stick?
2. When going long trips, can u put stick shifts into cruise control?
3. Do I have as much power in negotiating price on a stick shift G35 as an auto?
4. Is the clutch for the G35 as bad as ppl are saying? if so, can I change it to a more "reactive" one?

man just go with AT, MT has to be boring on a long cruise. i can't imagine shifting up and down all the damn time. im a AT type of guy and it will stay that way. but either way G35 FTMFW!

just get AT...you will be lazy some days and dont want to clutch shift up blah blah blah..but if you want a little more power get the MT!

I'll bring my pops along and he'll test drive it--he was gonna teach me in Delaware before we moved to SC but he went to Iraq for a 18 months so he couldn't

If I do get the 5AT can I still put exhaust/intake/supercharger (SC way down the line when warranty runs out) in it? its not going to be modded too heavily under the hood--not a racer but I love the way a modded car sounds.

I test drove a GTI last week with DSG and the shift **** that has with the leather ball and trigger in the front is BADA$$

its hard to choose cuz I like the convenience of an auto--listening to music, talkin on my cell, smokin "hand-rolled cigarettes", or gettin some head from one of my roster chicks

 

It helps learning a stick if you study the workings of HOW THE CLUTCH AND TRANSMISSION WORK. Study closely how it works and it will help you know how to drive it. I had never driven a stick when I got my first job in a drug store delivering perscriptions. I WAS a kind of gear head and I knew how a clutch and transmission worked to get the power to the ground. So I jumped in that 1971 Chevy Pick UP with a "three on the tree" and took off. I have never looked back.


As for "if you should get AT or MT"? It's what type of driver you are. If you use a car for transportation and like to "gun it" once in a while, get the AT. If you are a true "enthusiast" and LOVE cars and everyting about cars, get the MT.

 

...ok so I got my taxes back and a few used G coupes are poppin up at a Nissan dealership and a few at this Infiniti dealership

I'm REALLY interested in the '03 Diamond Graphite 6MT coupe. It has 54,609 miles and the price on the lot is $19,995. Its been there for a few weeks and I'm thinking about a counter offer of $17,000-18,000

the CARFAX is CLEAN, had only 1 owner since the day it was bought in '03/'04...should I go for it?

 

one thing to consider is that the ECU really developed over the first couple of years... early 03 cars aren’t nearly as able as the later models... 04.5 had a TCU upgrade too... If you don’t plan on modding much or having ECU tuned it won’t be a concern... if you do however, it could be a real burden.

Other than that, it seems like a good price for a low mileage car.
