Concern over an "open recall"?

I came across an ad for an 06 G35 with a free carfax and it says that it has no accidents, one owner, and low miles but it also has an "open recall". What does this mean and should i be worried about this or just skip the car? I noticed the ad has been up for a couple weeks now and i dont know why no one has went for it yet as there could be something wrong with it. :confused2:

These are the only two I've found for an 06. Both are minor and can be done at a dealership for free.

Just checked those codes and its the ITB10-030 Recall. Never dealt with a car that had an "open recall" so im a bit nervous in approaching especially if it has to do with a safety defect. On the carfax it says it was sold in November 2012, went to auction, and is offered again now so about a year with no buyer which makes me think there could be something wrong with it. Should i be worried? :dunno:

You could request the seller take care of the recall, if there are other issues with the car than that would be the time to find out. I find it odd that whoever is selling the car didn't take it to a dealership in the first place and have the recall done.

I wouldn't be so concerned. It just means the owner was too lazy to get the recall done.

My mom would never get any of the recalls done on her car if it wasn't for me. She'll get the letter, read it and then forget about it. Sadly, i know plenty of people like this as well. So having an open recall would mean the owner just wasn't all that concerned.

If that is the case, i'd be more worried they weren't as concerned with maintainence as well.

Sometimes the open recall could mean that the problem hasn't happened to the car yet if it does happen I have an 05 sedan that has the airbag light recall open but my car doesn't need it so I would consider it an open recall because if the problem does occur then it's taken care of at any Infiniti dealer for free but I would defiantly get it checked out before purchasing if your not sure

I had the recall done for the seat belt sensor but didn't bother with the headlamp recall since I had them tinted and didn't feel like re-tinting at the time.
Both are voluntary recalls and aren't considered a real safety risk.
