Should i buy a G35 Coupe or a Genesis Coupe?

I'm buying a car in spring, with a 15k budget, and my two cars im choosing between are a 07 G35 Coupe and a '10 Genesis Coupe, both in white. I'm planning on tinting the windows, Blacking out the rims, painting the calipers red, and smoking out the lights. I've been told repeatedly the Genesis Coupe would be much more fun to drive, and that the G35 Coupe feels like a boat, But i do like the luxury that comes with the G35 Coupe. Which should I get?
Thanks :)

Drive them both & decide which one you like. Asking this question on a G35 forum isn't going to give yo

Continued. An unbiased answer.

I vote g35. Never drove a genesis & not likely to in the future.

But since those are your plans for a possible G, please buy the Genesis

driven my cousin's 2013 track edition coupe... eh!

wasn't impressed much. No luxury inside what so ever. Plus we a know it's a HUNDAI, even tho you switch the emblems lol.

p.s. i drove it in automatic, super wack.

HYUNDAI FTW

HUNDAI, there's a reason they offer the 100K mile warranty! Without the warranty no one would buy it considering the Hundai track record...it's a POS!

Hyundai, unless it's the turbo model with work done. PASS ON IT

I've driven my boss's Genesis and went to the dealership to drive the newest model, and was not very impressed. There is zero luxury within that vehicle. The dash, the seats, the sound system and LED screen are all extremely low-end. I felt like the car may be slightly lighter than G but that shouldn't add up to much.

Meh.

This is kind of a silly question considering the forum you asked it in. Did anyone on the Hyundai forum say G35?

take your painted calipers over to the hyundai forums

First, you have to ask yourself what you want from your next car. Is it more performance, luxury or both. All though Hyundai has stepped their game up. The Genesis coupe (in my opinion) ranks among the civic crowd. It's fun to own, has a good aftermarket following.

Yes, the Genesis has good power (I drove one) it lacks the luxury the G35 brings to the table. I'm on my second "G35" coupe (my first being an automatic, my second a 6MT). I know a lot of people say the "G" has a fat azz. I beg to differ. I think too many people are trying to make a GT car into something it's not. Yes the platform has aged but so has a lot of other plat forms, I don't see people complaining about them.

In conclusion buy what's going to make YOU happy both cars have good power and performance, both cars have a good aftermarket following. I believe the Genesis has 30 more horses than a 6MT "G" but, the "G" has the luxury. Either car has a good bang for the buck factor so you can't go wrong. Enjoy your new car.

Aftermarket sway bars eliminate the "boat" feeling. Well spent $300 upgrade

The 2.0t has 274, the 3.8 has 348. But $15k will probably only get a 2.0t. 24hp less than the vq35. If you want cheap performance, get the 2.0t (boost controller is great hp/$ increase) if you want luxury, looks, still good performance, reliability, get a G. Just make sure that it's not one with OC issues

TORETTO 12-26-2013 03:10 AM

cheap performance = Evo.

will run circles on a track around hyundai. and will run the 1/4th, reverse back to start, and run the 1/4th again before the hyundai finishes.
