2005 G35 Coupe - 116k, Blown Engine - Vehicle Financed - What to Do?

Hi,
I could use some outside help and perspective on what to do.

I have a loud ticking/knocking, so I'll
Likely have to replace my engine... Which I don't know what that costs.

I owe $8k on it (re-financed).

What are my best options?

+Remanufactured engine and keep driving as normal?

+Would someone even buy it "as-is"?

Lost on what to do.
Your help is greatly appreciated.

No one's gonna buy it for $8k that's for sure. It'd probably cost you around $3k for a good used motor + install if you can't do your own work (if you find your own motor). You could probably sell it for $5k if it's in otherwise great condition, so either way you're probably out around $3k. What you do (keep it or sell it) will depend on how much you wanna keep it.

used (junk yard, or someone parting out the car) motor should run you anywhere from $500 to $1500 depending on millage. If over 100k it's a $500 motor. Under 100k it's a $1500 motor.
VQs drop in price dramatically with millage higher than 100k.
your best bet is getting used motor, swap it in and keep driving.

Car already cost you more than it worth, no need to add to it.
